This course explores the theory and practice of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) in real estate development. PPPs have become a vital approach for fostering collaboration between governments and private sector stakeholders. As developable land becomes more scarce and the need for various forms of real estate development has increased (such as the need for affordable housing), PPPs have become essential. By combining the expertise and resources of both the public and private sectors, PPPs unlock opportunities for sustainable real estate development, inclusive growth, and improved quality of life. Students will explore theoretical concepts, real-world examples, and interactive discussions to gain the skills required to navigate PPP projects effectively and optimize their benefits. The course will cover every stage of the PPP real estate development project lifecycle, from planning to construction completion and operation. Topics include benefits of partnerships, procurement and bidding strategies, contract design and negotiation, and case studies of PPP developments. After successfully completing the course students will have a comprehensive understanding of the PPP real estate development process and its many benefits.
