Miami-raised and Havana born, Alicia Cervera Lamadrid comes from a family whose name is synonymous with luxurious land holdings; she grew up surrounded by real estate, with both parents in the business (Alicia Cervera Sr. founded Cervera Real Estate, Miami’s first real estate firm specializing in developer sales). Cervera Lamadrid joined her mother’s firm in the early 1980s and rose the ranks eventually making her mark with luxury condos in the up-and-coming Brickell Avenue. She took on different roles and learned the business from the ground up.
While family ties may have initially drawn her into the high stakes world of multi-million-dollar properties, it is her sharp business acumen and personable, people-first attitude that keep her among the major players in the industry.
After years of successfully representing Miami’s top developers, the Related Group invited Cervera Lamadrid to join forces in 2000, which resulted in the formation of Related Cervera Realty Services (RCRS). In just ten years, under the leadership of Cervera Lamadrid as President, RCRS sold over 14,600 units, representing over $6.8 billion. During the recession of 2008, Cervera Lamadrid led sales teams to successfully close the remaining standing inventory that RCRS had represented in developer sales. Having completed a decades-long Miami real estate sales cycle, Cervera Lamadrid and Related Group concluded their partnership with the dissolution of Related Cervera Realty Services.
In 2011, Cervera Lamadrid resumed an active role in Cervera Real Estate and was named Managing Partner. Together with the firm’s leadership, she spearheaded an effort that doubled the size of the company. To date, the Cervera name has listed more than 115 luxury high-rise condominiums throughout South Florida totaling $16 billion in sales. In the process, Cervera Lamadrid has played an integral role in the revitalization of neighborhoods across the region, including Brickell, Miami Beach’s South of Fifth, Downtown Miami, Coconut Grove, and Edgewater. She continues to lead by example, servicing developer client needs while also assisting associates with individual and bulk transactions. Currently, Cervera Lamadrid oversees more than $4.5 billion of real estate sales in pre-construction and general real estate.
Cervera Lamadrid is committed to supporting positive change in South Florida through her service on boards for various civic, community and professional organizations, including: Miami Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Board of Directors; Miami United Way Tocqueville Society Board; Corporate Board of the Miami Association of Realtors; Advisory Board to the University of Miami “Master’s in Real Estate Development and Urbanism;” Hogar Clinica San Juan de Dios; Mercy Hospital Foundation Board; and the Host Committee to “Fashionably Conscious,” which raises funds for Coconut Grove Cares. Cervera Lamadrid is also a founding member of the Master Broker’s Forum, an organization that she helped established in 1992, and for which she served as honorary chair for four years. In 2020, the Master Brokers Forum recognized Cervera Lamadrid with its Lifetime Achievement Award.
Cervera Lamadrid has received numerous accolades, recognitions, and tributes throughout her life. She is regularly called upon by local, national, and international news outlets to provide expert opinion on matters relating to Miami real estate and has appeared on hundreds of panel discussions throughout her career. In March 2021, City of Miami Mayor Francis Suarez recognized Cervera Lamadrid as one of the four most influential “Women of the City.” She received the 2007 “Best Entrepreneur” award by the Stevie Awards for Women in Business and was a finalist for South Florida Business Journal’s “Businesswoman of the Year” award. She is a six-time recipient (2015-2021) of the South Florida Business Journal “Power Leader in Real Estate” award and was also recognized by the newspaper as a 2021 “Ultimate CEO” honoree. Cervera Lamadrid was named by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce as “2011 Condo Broker of the Year” and by the Miami Herald as “2011 Miami Power Broker.” She has been featured by Miami Today twice (April 2021 and August 2006) as "The Achiever." Cervera Lamadrid is a graduate of the University of Miami where she served as first Cuban Student Government President. She is married to Alberto Lamadrid, the mother of two children, Alicia and Alberto Jr., and a grandmother to Juan and Sofia Paysse. Cervera Lamadrid is fluent in English and Spanish.
