AMLI Residential
Stephen Ross is a Partner and Executive Vice President of AMLI Residential. He is responsible for the oversight of all development activities from design through construction in Chicago and South Florida, including the origination, structuring, and closing of investments. AMLI Residential is a Chicago-based real estate company specializing in the acquisition, development, and management of luxury Class A multifamily and mixed-use communities. Between 1989 and 1996, Stephen led AMLI Residential’s financing activities. Prior to joining AMLI Residential, he was associated with JMB Realty Corporation from 1981 to 1989 in Chicago and New York City, where he had certain portfolio management and acquisition responsibilities. Stephen also sits on AMLI Residential’s Investment Committee.
Stephen received a B.S. from the University of Rochester in 1978 and M.B.A. from the University of Chicago in 1981. Since then, he has continued to engage with higher education. Stephen has been a guest lecturer at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business, DePaul University, and Roosevelt University. Stephen sits on the Advisory Board of the University of Miami MRED+U program.
Stephen is a member of the Urban Land Institute and serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Illinois Medical District Guest House Foundation. He served on the Zoning Board of Appeals for the Village of Glencoe, Illinois and was the co-chairman of the Village of Glencoe Caucus. He also served on the Board of the West Central Association in Chicago, and on the Chicago Near South Planning Board, where he was co-chairman of the Project Review Committee.
