After over three decades of commercial real estate banking experience, Steve has launched the Florida office for MCBANK in May 2026. In his role as Director, Real Estate and Commercial Banking he is catering to the needs of local CRE investors, owners and operators. He also has the ability to provide for the loan and deposit needs of operating businesses. Offerings including senior debt for the acquisition, term and construction/repositioning of various property types.
During his banking career, Steve provided debt capital and banking solutions for a wide variety of asset classes and CRE firms. He held senior leadership roles with Synovus Bank (n/k/a Pinnacle), American Momentum Bank, and SunTrust Bank (n/k/a Truist). He has the unique experience of having lived and worked throughout Florida, including SE FL, SW FL, Central Florida and North Florida. He has worked with experienced developers, homebuilders and real estate investors and has significant experience in new business production, underwriting and administration of various residential and commercial construction and mini-perm loans. Steve has been an instructor for various courses offered by SunTrust University, the American Institute of Banking and Miami-Dade Community College. He is a current advisory board member past chair of the Bergstrom Center for Real Estate Studies. He also currrently serves on the board for the MRED+U program at the University of Miami. Previous involvements included being Chairman of First Housing Corporation in Tampa and being a board member of various trade and community-based organizations including the Urban Land Institute, the International Council of Shopping Centers and CREW,. Steve received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from The University of Florida.
