Ann E. Walters-Pope is a seasoned commercial and real estate development, marketing, and public relations executive with more than 35 years of experience. In 2003, she founded Ann Pope Consulting, Inc. to provide project management, development services, DBE/SBE program administration, strategic planning, consensus-building/public involvement, and marketing services to public agencies, municipalities, and major corporations. Her firm has supported regional and national organizations across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.
A veteran of The Rouse Company, Mrs. Walters-Pope has led high-profile, politically sensitive, and large-scale development projects including the Village of Merrick Park, Kendall Town Center, and Bayside Marketplace. Her expertise spans public approvals and stakeholder engagement to construction oversight, development management, marketing, and public relations.
Mrs. Walters-Pope currently serves on the boards of West Kendall Baptist Hospital,
where she is Vice Chair; Baptist Outpatient Services; Baptist Health Enterprises; and
the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. She is also a member of the Orange Bowl
Committee.
Her civic and professional affiliations include memberships in Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority, Inc., The Links, Incorporated, and The Girl Friends, Incorporated.
Mrs. Walters-Pope has received numerous recognitions, including the Women Presidents Organization Woman of Color Award. She has been honored as one of South Florida’s 25 Most Influential & Prominent Black Women in Business and Leadership and one of the region’s Most Accomplished Black Entrepreneurs. Her work has been featured in Miami Today, Colorado Leadership Profiles, and Who’s Who of Professional Business Women. She was also a Price Waterhouse Up & Comers finalist and received the
“Imagen Latinoamericana” Award for Puerto Rican Executives.
A proud native of Puerto Rico, Mrs. Walters-Pope holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication Arts with a minor in Architecture, Art & Planning from Cornell University. She is the mother of two sons, Richard III and Miles, and grandmother to Lily Leigh. She resides in Kendall with her husband, Richard.
